September 11, 2008 marks the official implementation start of the project “Renovation of infrastructure of Traku Voke manor house in order to preserve the building and adapt it for cultural and other public needs”, implemented by the Lithuanian Royal Union of Nobility (LRUN) in partnership with a Center of Manor House Culture.

Built in 1876-1880, Trakų Vokė manor was owned by a prominent noble family Tiškeviciai (Tyszkiewicz). Serving various purposes throughout its existence, the manor house is currently in the care of the LRUN, which plans to bring the XIX century manor house back to life by completing a significant technical upgrade of the building by modernizing the heating, ventilation, water supply systems, electrical network, etc. At present, the manor house hosts the headquarters of the LRUN and various events organized by the Union, local and wider community; however; the potential use of the building is severely restricted by the poor condition of its basic infrastructure.

The project aims to transform the Trakų Vokė manor house into an important element contributing to Vilnius cultural development. The manor house will be open to a wide range of activities and events, promoting an interest and appreciation of Lithuanian history and cultural heritage, as well as tourism. Restoration of the manor house will enable project implementers to establish a Center of Heraldry and Genealogy, a space for holding cultural and social events, conferences, etc.
